Nestled on the shores of Lower Lough Erne, halfway between Enniskillen and Belleek in County Fermanagh, Roscor Youth Village is a haven of hope for young people who need to take time out from the challenges they face in their home lives.

Officially opened in 1997, the site caters for children and young people through a variety of programmes, including Time Out and Summer Camp. In its 21 years, Roscor has changed the lives of over 40,000 children who have been supported by Extern.

While at Roscor, children are given the opportunity to enjoy more than 50 fun water and land-based activities, which act as a conduit for the delivery of life-changing psychological and social care interventions by Extern’s experienced staff.

The site has nine independent chalets that accommodate small groups and large groups as well as individual young people. All chalets are fully self-sufficient and have a comfortable living area and fully equipped kitchen.

Each young person attending is encouraged to develop social and interpersonal skills and depending on age and ability they take part in independent living skills development, such as managing a small budget, cooking and maintaining their living space with the assistance of their key worker. Young people are engaged positively and supervised at all times whilst at Roscor.

Each year it enables over 2,500 children and young people to overcome some of the challenges they face in their daily lives, giving them a life-changing opportunity to discover who they can be. This is enabled through a wide range of activities, both indoor and outdoor, including:

  • Angling (Sea fishing and Course fishing)
  • Mountain biking
  • Zip lining
  • Hillwalking
  • Gorge Walking
  • Archery
  • Canoeing
  • Sports
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Hairdressing

From 1st March to 31st October watersports such as sailing and speedboating are available. Quad Biking is also available during the summer period in July and August.
