Emma is the Director of Communities and Family Services. She has worked for Extern for over ten years. Emma provides leadership and direction to Programme Managers within the homelessness, refugee, criminal justice and the education and learning programmes within Extern. In 2024, Emma was appointed as Extern's Director of Communities and Family Services.

Extern Homes provides safe and stable accommodation for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness by offering a tenancy period of up to two years.

Working out of our Belfast office, this service provides vital support to members of the Traveller community who may be experiencing difficulties with access to housing and services.

Based in Belfast city centre, the Ormeau Centre offers support to men and women (18+) experiencing homelessness. It operates an open, non-judgmental referral policy and is available 24 hours a day, 365 nights a year.

The Innis Centre, Dismas House and MUST Hostel provide accommodation, supervision and monitoring for people within the criminal justice system, so that they can be positively reintegrated into the community.
The Refugee Floating Support Service offers support to individuals and families who have been granted refugee status and who have been given leave to remain in the UK.
Based in our MUST Hostel in Cookstown, the SAIL (Supporting Adults for Independent Living) Project is a Supporting People-funded floating support service.
