Become the Next Chairperson of Extern

Extern is a well-established community and voluntary organisation delivering vital services across the island for 50 years. With over 550 staff supporting more than 22,000 people each year, we work in partnership with government departments and public-sector agencies to reach individuals and communities facing some of life’s most difficult challenges.

Every day, we walk alongside those who need us most, offering dignity, compassion, and the belief that everyone deserves hope and the opportunity to rebuild.

We are seeking an exceptional leader to become our next Chairperson. This role requires someone who sees governance as stewardship – ensuring Extern remains courageous, compassionate, modern, agile, and fit for purpose, while delivering impactful services that support people towards a better tomorrow. As Chairperson, you will guide Extern’s strategic direction and future impact, building on five decades of strong foundations.

With the launch of Vision 2030, our ambitious five-year strategy, this is a pivotal moment to strengthen governance, support our Chief Executive and Board, and help drive the organisation’s long-term impact.

If you believe in human potential
If you want your leadership to have purpose and heart
If you are ready to guide a complex organisation with a bold vision for the years ahead…

We would be delighted to hear from you.
