Lockdown has dealt a significant blow to the mental health of the local community, with support services curtailed and access to the outdoors restricted. As lockdown continues to ease, Ballynahinch RFC would like to reflect their community ethos by raising money for local mental health charities Extern and Ballynahinch Counselling service.

In conjunction with their kit supplier BLK they have designed a limited edition ‘Superhero’ jersey to emphasise all the hard work which will lies ahead for mental health organisations as they pick up the pieces following the coronavirus pandemic. Funding streams have slowed up as the focus has fallen on primary healthcare.

Poor mental health can affect anyone regardless of age, gender, background, career, education etc. and looking after your mental health is vital for overall health & wellbeing. Everyone at Ballynahinch Counselling Service are delighted that Ballynahinch RFC have chosen to raise mental health awareness in such a positive and unique way.
