Celebrating the Heart of Extern: A Thank You to Our Volunteers
Extern joined organisations across the country to mark National Volunteers’ Week, culminating in our annual Volunteer Appreciation Day on Sunday, 7th June.
Staff and volunteers gathered at the beautiful Drumalis House in Larne for a special afternoon dedicated to pausing, reflecting, and recognising the extraordinary individuals who selflessly give their time and energy to support our mission.
Our volunteers are a vital pillar of Extern. Every single day, they show up with immense kindness, patience, and dedication. Whether they are working alongside our frontline teams, engaging directly with service users, or strengthening local communities, their impact is immeasurable. The work they do is invaluable, and the genuine relationships they build create lasting, positive change in people’s lives.
Our gathering at Drumalis was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate these achievements and ensure our volunteers know how they are respected and valued. Quite simply, we could not do what we do without them.
To all of our volunteers: thank you for your unwavering commitment, your passion, and your generosity. You change lives every day.
