Sunshine, goals and plenty of fun at the Extern Fun Cup
The sun was shining on Wednesday as young people from across our Janus and Youth Support services came together for the Extern Fun Cup at the Spawell in Dublin.
Around 30 young people took part, with teams from North City Dublin Janus and Youth Support, Cherry Orchard Janus, and Naas Janus all pulling on their boots for the day.
For a lot of them, it was their first time ever playing football. That didn't matter one bit. Every young person was supported to get involved at their own pace, and the focus stayed firmly on having fun and feeling part of the team.
There were goals, there were laughs, and there was a real sense of everyone being in it together. Staff and young people cheered each other on all day, and no one was left on the sidelines.
Days like this are a big part of what we do. They give young people the chance to try something new, build confidence, and connect with others in a space where they feel safe and included.
A huge well done to everyone who took part, and a big thank you to all the staff who made the day happen.
