The Power of Support: How Extern’s EOSS Helped David Achieve His Goals
We’re delighted to share some fantastic news from our Limerick services - huge congratulations to David Mc Mahon, who has successfully graduated from a 26-week Preparation for Employment course at the Technological University of the Shannon.
Recognising Determination and Positive Impact
David’s achievement is made even more exceptional by receiving a special award for his positive attitude and the encouragement he offered to fellow participants throughout the programme. This recognition highlights not only his personal progress but also the meaningful impact he had on those around him.
Support Through Extern’s Outreach Support Service (EOSS)
David was supported throughout his journey by Extern’s Limerick-based Outreach Support Service (EOSS). Through this service, he received tailored one-to-one support designed to:
- Build confidence
- Develop essential life skills
- Explore pathways into education and employment
With the guidance of his Key Worker, Casey Carey, David demonstrated consistent determination and commitment at every stage of the programme.

David’s success is a powerful example of what can be achieved when the right support is provided at the right time - built on a foundation of trustworthiness, collaboration, and empowerment.
